A man gunned down his sister-in-law after a feud over laundry. Shane Michael Finnell, 25, from Oregon, reportedly took out a gun and shot Alexandra Arb-Bloodgood, 29, “in the back of the head" on early Sunday morning at his North Portland home, according to Finnell's brother, Jordan Arb.

Court documents showed that Arb and Finnel had a heated argument over laundry before the shooting and that the latter threw a potted plant at Arb.

According to court records, Arb-Bloodgood was seated in a chair on the back patio looking away from her brother-in-law when Finnell approached her and “shot her in the back of the head at close range with a revolver.”

Cops detained Finnell at home after responding to a neighbor’s 911 call. The neighbor saw Finnell waving his arms and looking upset, and was asked by the latter to call the police. Finnell sat on the front port until authorities arrived at the scene past 8:30 a.m.

The 25-year-old was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of the weapon. He remains at the Multnomah County Detention Center, held without bond.

“I did a horrible thing,” Finnell told officers after he was arrested, reports show.

Finnell listed a home address in the same block a month earlier, according to court records from a dismissed speeding citation. However, authorities did not specify who resides at the house.

In an interview with Fox 12, Mattew Bloodgood, the victims’ brother, said his family was still processing and grieving over his sister’s death. “It’s the shock of something that should never happen to anyone, and you just never expect something like this to happen,” Bloodwood told reporters.

In the aftermath of his “feisty” sister's unfortunate death, Bloodgood had a message for the community.

“If you ever have anyone that expresses any desire to hurt themselves or others don’t hesitate to try to do something about it,” he said. “I mean that’s the biggest thing we can pull out of it as far as a lesson.”

According to the Portland Police Bureau, Arb-Bloodgood’s death marks the 33rd homicide incident in 2021.
