It’s 2020 and public figures who’re under constant media glare have no qualms about coming out in the open about their sexuality. Here’s a list of celebs who’ve embraced their identities as proud members of the LGBTQ this year.

1) Niecy Nash: The “Claws” actress took fans by surprise when she introduced her new partner -- Jessica Betts, in September. What’s more, Nash was candid about how it all began, and eventually ended in wedlock. Shortly after her divorce from former spouse Jay Tucker was speculated, Nash revealed that her relationship with Betts transformed after her official split from Tucker. “I don't feel like my marriage is my coming out of anywhere, but rather a going into myself and being honest about who I love,” said the 51-year-old to a media outlet. “And I'm not limiting myself on what that love is supposed to look like,” she added.

2) Lili Reinhart: The “Riverdale” actress has always been vocal about the things that really mattered to her. Reinhart, who expressed her support to the raging movement “Black Lives Matter” on social media, also used the platform in June to come out in the open about her being bisexual. The young actress, whose publicized break-up with Cole Sprouse, averred on Instagram that she’s a proud bisexual woman. While Reinhart initially feared being vilified and accused of doing this for attention, she finally decided to do it for her fans. “I felt that since I've exclusively been in heteronormative relationships, it would be too easy for any outsider, especially the media, to vilify me and accuse me of faking it to get attention. That's not something I wanted to deal with. But to my close friends and those in my life, my bisexuality has been no secret,” said Reinhart..

3) YouTuber Tana Mongeau: While Mongeau has always hated the boxes, what she reportedly detested, even more, was discrediting her relationship with a girl. “I never thought I'd be brave enough to publicly share my sexuality in the way I do now,” the internet celeb said on Instagram. “I still struggle with it. I hate the boxes, I hate people telling me I'm straight or discrediting my relationship if I'm with a girl, but I'm proud to be not only a member but an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I'm proud to say I will live my life based on loving people, not for their gender but their soul. Some people call that pansexuality, everyone calls me bi, I personally don't find a need to label it all. Love and sexuality is [sic] genderless to me,” she added. The post which was shared on her official page in June, cemented her spot as one of the feistiest girls on the world wide web.

4) Chyler Leigh: The “Grey’s Anatomy” star likes to believe that her new-found self-awareness had a lot to do with diving deep into the character of “Supergirl” in the popular show, in which essayed the role of a lesbian. While Leigh is married to Nathan West, the actress steered away from putting any labels on her impassioned post on Create Change. “When I was told that my character was to come out in season two, a flurry of thoughts and emotions flew through and around me because of the responsibility I personally felt to authentically represent Alex's journey," Leigh wrote in a post on Create Change, as per a report on “Out”. “What I didn't realize was how the scene where she finally confessed her truth would leap off the pages of the script and genuinely become a variation of my own,” she added.

5) Rebecca Black: Black decided to drop some truths pertaining to her sexuality on the “Dating Straight” podcast interview in April. While she shot to fame in 2011 after “Friday” her music video went viral, she’s currently banking on her reach as a social media star. “To me, the word 'queer' feels really nice,” said Black. “I've dated a lot of different types of people, and I just don't really know what the future holds. Some days I feel little more on the gay side than others,” she added.
