So what happens if you win the 2014 FIFA World Cup? Not only will you be the world’s soccer champion, but you will also be able to spend some time with Gisele Bundchen. As it turns out, the Brazilian supermodel will be in charge of handing out the trophy to the winner of soccer’s biggest event. Usually, this honor is given to the president of the host country, which would make Brazil’s commander in chief, Dilma Rousseff, the appointed person. However, Rousseff is not the most popular person right now in her native land.

According to the Boston Globe, Rouseff is “terribly unpopular at the moment.” So much so that she even was booed when she showed up at the World Cup’s opening ceremony “for spending $11 billion on the World Cup at a time when tens of millions of Brazilians are poor.” So FIFA, in a smart move, asked Brazil’s most famous citizen Gisele Bundchen to do the honors. The model said yes, and is even bringing her husband, Tom Brady, along with her, although we doubt that he’ll be joining her to hand out the prize.

According to Vanity Fair, the trophy itself will be encased in a monogrammed, handcrafted Louis Vuitton case, an item so elegant and pristine that only Gisele would know how to hand out. The supermodel will sure bring glamour, class and beauty to the soccer event, and will surely be a delight to watch when the World Cup comes to an end on July 13 at the Maracana Mário Filho Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Avicii, Carlos Santana and Wyclef will also be present, as they’ll be performing at the tournament's celebrations.
