Drax Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Extended Big Game Spot Guardians of the Galaxy / Marvel

“Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3” is not happening until 2023 but it appears some breadcrumbs are already out in the open. It all dates back to 2020 when a fan asked film director James Gunn if someone would die in the third and last installment of the Marvel movie.

Gunn responded and said yes, leaving movie buffs guessing on who it could be. Gunn unsurprisingly did not get into details, leaving “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Marvel fans speculating on who could be dying in the third installment.

Fans have come up with their theories with one even referring to the film logo as proof. The fan with the Twitter handle @Kristinababe01 pointed out the color scheme of the logos and then tied it to what happened to Groot and Yondu in the previous installments. For her, it will be Drax (Dave Batista).

Picking up from that, another Twitter user (@OnlyTheSnarky) suggested it to be Rocket. The reason is that the color of the logo represents a raccoon. Aside from that, he also pointed out that raccoons have a shorter life compared to others. He even added that Rocket will die in the arms of Quill (Chris Pratt).

There is also the possibility that no one from the team dies. Starlord was also suggested because he is the main character. Since it will be the final installment, it may seem fitting.

There is the angle that Quill may still be not over the death of Gamora (Zoe Saldana) from the last “Avengers” movie. Adding it up, it may make sense with the two possibly reuniting in some other world or dimension.

Nebula, Baby Groot or even Mantis could kick the bucket although that may depend on how they will be cast in “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3.”

The answer to that will be in May 2023, meaning a lot of “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3” speculations should be made in the coming months.
