Enrique Peña Nieto to expressed his congratulations and appreciation to all moms of Mexico in a Mother's Day ceremony in the captial yesterday. He described them as the strength society and applauded them for "the noble and selfless work they do 365 days a year for families in the country." The President announced his commitment towards a "public policy of a state that cares, protects and promotes women and moms of Mexico," reinforcing a desire to develop "a campaign to reassess as a society the work performed by women within the home."
Enrique Peña Nieto said that "if we want a more just and equitable country , we must begin, precisely here, in the family." The President also announced that he has instructed the head of the Ministry of Agricultural , Regional and Urban Development to initiate the Popular Housing Fund ( FONHAPO ), "a pilot program in seven states in the country for moms maintaining a home to have the opportunity to buy a home with weekly payments of less than 500 pesos ."
"With concrete actions like this country recognizes moms of Mexico, who are an example of struggle, fortitude and daily work, which they do with love and totally and absolutely in favor of their loved ones," he stressed. For women who were celebrating Mother's Day for the first time, he said, "your children have been born in a country that is moving, being transformed to achieve a new era of success and prosperity for all Mexican families. In this project we are pushing to transform Mexico, moms have a fundamental role to play. "
