A few months ago, a video of a woman from Lucknow, India thrashing a cab driver became viral on social media. The woman, identified as Priyadarshini, said the cab had hit her, which enraged her.

Following an altercation at a busy traffic crossroads in the city, the police filed an FIR against the woman and another person. On social media, videos of the assault have gone viral, fueling calls for her arrest.

#ArrestLucknowGirl became a trending topic on Twitter. The Krishna Nagar police station in Lucknow was then where the Lucknow police filed a case against her.

The incident occurred in the Krishna Nagar neighborhood of India's Uttar Pradesh capital last August. The woman claimed that the taxi driver attempted to run her over, but the cabbie denied it. She then smacked the man at least a dozen times in front of traffic cops.

"You'll run over a woman?" she is heard asking in the video while continuing with the assault even as the driver seeks onlookers' help to call the police. He said she had damaged his mobile phone. "Who will pay for that? It is my employer's phone. I'm a poor man...it cost ₹ 25,000 ($335)," he says.

She also smacked a bystander who attempted to assist and warned her not to assault the driver again. According to footage from a CCTV camera that recorded the turn of events, the woman first dangerously crossed the road, wading amid passing automobiles. After that, the car driven by the person she assaulted comes to a halt in front of her.

She approaches the driver a few moments later and begins her assault even before he gets out. She can be seen scooping something up off the road and hurling it at the automobile before returning to take another swing.

She then tears both sides of the car's rear-view mirrors away. Only then does the driver exit the vehicle to inform the traffic officer of the harm she has caused.
