A Queens yellow cab driver made a chilling discovery after his female passenger, who he thought was merely drunk, turned out to be dead after he was directed to drive the woman back to her residence and then the hospital early Tuesday morning.

According to the man, the victim's friend from Queens hailed his cab to fetch the woman outside a club. He was then told to drive the supposedly inebriated woman, who was in her 30s, to a home on Avery Avenue in Flushing, Fox News reported.

The concerned friend, who was waiting at the address, then approached the vehicle upon arrival at the destination and quickly noticed that the "drunk" woman was unconscious, cops said.

The same driver would transport the woman and her friend to the nearby New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 5:49 a.m. on Wednesday, with the cause of the death yet to be determined by the city's medical examiner, according to the New York Post.

The attending physician at the medical facility said the initially reportedly drunk victim had “suspicious” chemical burns on her face, chest, neck, and back but she did not reek of alcohol. The woman had also reportedly sustained bruises to parts of her body.

Security officers at the hospital shortly alerted 911, sparking police investigations. Detectives would later get hold of a surveillance video showing the unresponsive woman being thrown out of the Division Street club in Manhattan by four men.

The cabbie was waiting outside the club and was unsuspicious that he might have been already carrying a corpse at the time. Authorities are yet to confirm if the woman was already dead when she was booted out of the club.

On Thursday afternoon, police scoured the scene and executed a search warrant at the site of the reputed illegal nightclub on the Lower East Side, New York Daily News noted.

No arrests have been made as investigations into the woman's horrific death continue. Police are not ruling out possible foul play and a homicide.
