After a good showing in 2021, it seems imminent to see “Invincible” season 2 coming. But with factors such as the pandemic in the air, there is no telling when the next installment will come out.

The first thing that needs to be addressed is the status of the production of the comic series. Actor J.K. Simmons provided an update when he spoke to Discussing Film.

“Again, always wary of spoilers, but I think I’m allowed to say that we’re going back to work very soon in the recording booth. Now, the lag between us doing our first recordings and the animation being completed is obviously many months and probably more than a year, I would guess. But yes, Invincible is getting to work in earnest and season two is imminent, I will say. There’s a nice vague term,” the Omni-Man/ Nolan Grayson actor stated.

Also, Simmons admitted that he was not familiar with the source material but was surprised at the impact that the show was able to give.

“It was really fun and I had some wonderful actors to work with in Steven [Yeun] and Sandra [Oh], and a great cast as a lot of animated projects are getting these days. So, I’m looking forward to getting back to work on them,” he stated.

With the success of “Invincible,” it appears the plan is to have it run out for five to seven seasons. But before looking that far, the important thing right now is to have the second season of the comic series out.

For those who were not able to watch the first season of “Invincible,” it is available on Amazon Prime now. It may have to do for now with some hoping to see “Invincible” season 2 announced soon. At the rate they are going, it is unlikely to come out at least until 2023.
