On Nov. 2, Apple released the iPad mini to consumers and over three million units were sold in its first weekend.

So, is the iPad mini durable? The critics did various drop tests and some proved that Apple's latest device is pretty sturdy.

In tests done by Square Trade, the iPad mini was dropped three times - on its corner, on its face and dunked under water for 10 seconds.

"In the first test, the iPad mini came out the least unscathed with only minor aesthetic aberrations, with no cracks visible on the screen," Tech 2 reported. "In the second test, the iPad mini was left worse for wear, and so was the third generation iPad, which suffered the most amount of damage. In the third test, the tablet was dunked in water for 10 seconds and upon removal, the iPad mini fares the best, as it works properly without any issues."

In tests done by Android Authority, the iPad mini was dropped 4.5 feet on its side, back and face.

When it was dropped on its side, the iPad mini suffered "a little bit of minor damage and two little small dents." The screen was still intact and the device fully functioning.

On its back, the screen was significantly cracked but the device was still working.

In the third and final drop, the iPad mini was dropped on its face and it continued to function.
