According to several reports, Nov. 2 is the ship date for Apple's iPad Mini that is expected to be released on Oct. 23 along with the new 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro.

"Our source, who is someone close to a major UK retailer, and has been reliable in the past, has told us that Apple will start selling the new iPad Mini on Friday the 2nd of November, the device will be available in the US And UK on this date, possibly some other countries as well," Roland Hutchinson of Geeky Gadgets said. "The iPad Mini will go up for pre-order on the same week it is announced, possibly Friday the 26th of October, although our source was not 100 percent sure this would be the exact pre-order date."

9TO5Mac also tweeted that they have heard "whispers" of a Nov. 2 iPad Mini release date, but although nothing confirmed, the "date makes sense (Friday) and we know stock is ramping."

According to AllThingsD's John Paczkowski, details about the iPad Mini are "slim."

"Sources say the iPad's diminutive sibling will feature a 7.85-inch liquid-crystal display and a Lightning connector," Paczkowski said. "It will also probably be thinner. And that's about it."

The current iPad is 9.7 inches and the new iPad will be easier to users.

People can expect to pay up to $300 for the iPad Mini. The device will be released two weeks after the announcement and will have to compere compete with Amazon's Kindle Fire HD tablet and Google's Nexus 7, both of which have 7-inch screens and are priced at $199.

Apple's current iPad lineup starts at $399 for last year's iPad 2 and $499 for the third-generation iPad released in March.
