With the launch of the new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro likely just a few months away, rumors about the possible features and release date of Apple’s upcoming handsets are already making the rounds online. Apple has yet to announce the launch date of the two handsets but speculations are rife that the phones will officially launch before the end of 2020.

Rumor has it that the iPhone 12 series will consist of four handsets—the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the iPhone 12 Max. The first three handsets will reportedly be direct successors to the iPhone 11 range, while the iPhone 12 Max will be a huge screen handset without the Pro credentials.

The iPhone 12 launch is said to be the most exciting iPhone launches in years, thanks to the biggest design changes it will offer since the iPhone X ditched the home button and introduced a notch back in 2017. The iPhone 12 will feature a 5.4-inch display, while the iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max will feature a 6.1-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch display, respectively. All four handsets will also feature 5G connectivity and a powerful A14 Bionic processor.

The iPhone 12 Max will reportedly have a larger screen size for those who want a larger screen but can’t afford the iPhone 12 Pro Max model. Previous leaks have also suggested that the iPhone 12 will feature a metal frame and that the rear of all four phones will be made of glass and will feature more squared edges. The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will also feature flat stainless steel edges, more sharply rounded corners, and flat screens.

All the iPhone 12 models will reportedly come with OLED screen tech for the first time. BOE will manufacture the displays of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max, while Samsung will manufacture the OLED tech of the two high-end models.

Other features of the upcoming phones include LiDAR sensor, 120Hz refresh rate and three rear cameras on the iPhone 12 Pro display, 4 GB of RAM and a choice between 128 or 256 GB of storage for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. The two high-end handsets will feature up to 6GB of RAM and a choice between 128 or 512 GB of storage.

Apple has yet to announce the unveiling of the new iPhones but the latest rumors suggest that they will come out around the second week of September.
