A recent drawing for Apple's iPhone 7 shows that the next-generation smartphone will have the same length and width as the iPhone 6s, reports French website Nowhereelse.fr.

The unverified drawing shows the iPhone 7 will have the same 5.44-inch length and 2.67-inch width as the iPhone 6s, however, the depth of the new smartphone is not listed so we cannot compare how thick the device will be. The sketch also shows a larger and slightly convex camera housing, which suggest the next-generation iPhone may have a larger sensor and a nearly flush camera cutout, reports MacRumors.

The sketch is consistent with a previous drawing of the iPhone 7 Plus that showed the larger 5.5-inch device with the same dimensions as the iPhone 6s Plus. Conflicting rumors suggest that the iPhone 7 series will not include a 3.5mm headphone jack, Smart Connector and dual-lens camera system.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will not have "many attractive selling points," and it appears increasingly likely that Apple will break away from its typical tick-tock "S" design cycle and maintain the same 6-series form factor for a third consecutive year.

Other rumored features for the Apple iPhone 7 include a touch-sensitive home button, water and dust resistant, repositioned antenna bands which will give the new device a more sleek look, stereo speakers, wireless charging and a slightly larger battery.

Apple may leave some features out for the following iPhone in 2017, which rumors suggest will be a far more compelling device featuring an all-new OLED display, glass casing, no home button and several other changes.

The company is expected to announce the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in September and hopefully we'll get a preview or tease for the device at WWDC 2016 in June.
