Apple has been promising iTunes users that a new version of the music player would be coming in October, but that promise was delayed until November. Now, with just one day until November is a part of history, it seems that Apple might finally fullfill its promise.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, the launch of a new desktop version of iTunes is expected as soon as today.
"The new iTunes has been delayed a month by engineering issues that required parts to be rebuilt, according to people who have seen it," the report said.
An Apple Spokesman Tom Neumayr told CNET at the end of October that the company "wanted to take a little extra time to get it right."
"We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November," Neumayr said.
According to Apple, iTunes 11 has a completely redesigned player, a newly remodeled store and more iCloud features.
"With iCloud, you can access your content on all your devices," Apple said on its website. "And now, when you buy an album, song, movie, or TV show on any device, it's instantly accessible in your iTunes library on your Mac or PC. Just double-click to play. Or if you're going offline - say, taking your notebook on a plane - click the new Download button and bring a copy with you."
