Jaguar has steadily released new details on its latest F-type sports car throughout the summertime as it readies its big public unveiling at the upcoming Paris Auto Show. Just last month, Jaguar PR even tapped beautiful singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey to help draw awareness to the brand's recent activity. Without a doubt, Jaguar aims for its new F-Type to be Paris' maint event.

In Jaguar's latest video, the F-Type is working under the direction of the Jaguar vehicle dynamics team as it is brought to the test at multiple proving grounds across Europe, including the Gaydon test track in the UK, the famed Nurburgring in Germany, and finally Italy's Nardo Circuit. A montage mixed with commentary to express the capabilities of the new 2 seater Jag, one cut shows the F-Type's speedle eclipse the 180 mph marque and climbing.

On the F-Type, Jaguar Vehicle Integrity Chief Engineer Mike Cross praised, "Fundamentally, a great sports car is one you'll look forward to driving because it's fun, and the F-TYPE definitely delivers on that score. We've worked hard to make sure that responses to steering, throttle and brakes are absolutely immediate, a task made far easier by the rigid aluminium structure at the car's base. It's precise and exciting, a car that you'll want to drive for the sake of driving alone - and it sounds fantastic!"

Indeed it does. The F-Type 'R' variant offers a burly 5.0 liter V8 engine deliverying about 550-hp and 500 lb.-ft. of torque. Other engines in the range include two supercharged 3.0 liter V6 engines, one offering 240-hp and another bumped to 380-hp. Best of all, a well-informed source within Jaguar reports that a manual transmission will be available as an option in some engine combinations as well, further owning up to its sports car promises.

Don't miss our regular updates on the all-new 2013 Jaguar F-Type sports car in the days ahead as we draw ever closer to its big Paris debut next week.
