Mark Webber has signed a drive with Porsche next for for the 24 Hours of Le Mans but he has plenty of unfinished business at Formula 1. Webber earned his first 2013 pole at Suzuka and vows to go for victory in the Japanese Grand Prix. However, even Mark Webber will admit that his pole position is a bit hollow as Vettel has suffered KERS malfunction during qualifying. No matter, Webber has made it clear that he will not surrender his position for Sebastian Vettel, his world title-contending teammate.
"He'll do his race tomorrow and I'll do my race," said a determined Mark Webber, who lapped Suzuka in 1 minute 30.915 seconds. "Seb's had a phenomenal year. It's not like it's the last race of the championship.
"Sebastian has a big points lead because of the work he's put in. He can't qualify on pole every race. Let's see how it's looking at the end of the race. In general, we'll be there for ourselves tomorrow. We'll do what we can to get to turn one first and see what we do from there."

Mark Webber still fondly remembers the controversial "Multi-21" fiasco when Vettel ignored Red Bull team orders in order to win at Malaysia. That said, if Vettel managed to finish the Japanese GP in first place and Fernando Alonso finishes out of the top eight, then the German driver will be world champion for the fourth time in a row.

"I had a problem with the KERS system but it's not my style to make excuses," said Vettel. "Congratulations to Mark."
