A jealous man in Southampton, U.K. stabbed his ex-girlfriend multiple times after seeing her on a Tinder date with another man in September 2019. During a hearing on Wednesday, the court said Cristina Ortiz-Lozano, 28, was killed in a frenzied attack after her ex-boyfriend Abdelaziz El Yechioui Ourzat followed her home.

The jury was told the couple met at school in Spain and had been in a relationship for about 12 years before Lozano broke up with Ourzat in August 2019. They were living together in Southampton, Hampshire while Lozano was working for the Norwegian Cruise Line and Ourzat was a baggage handler for Port Skills at the city docks, News.com Australia wrote.

When Lozano told him to leave, Ourzat went on a rampage ripping fixtures as well the radiators from out of the walls. He was arrested for criminal damage and had allegedly breached his bail restrictions by sending her emails where he called her a “whore”.

Following the breakup, Lozano met Vincente Breso-Biosca on Tinder and went on a date with him in September 2019. They went to Sprinkles ice cream parlor and they then proceeded to the Giddy Bridge pub where Ourzat was caught on CCTV “hiding in the shadows” outside the pub.

The court was also told that Ourzat had gone to Tesco and bought some flowers which he took to Lozano’s house then returned to the pub and walked inside.

Prosecutor Kerry Maylin said Lozano spotted Ourzat and immediately asked her date if they could leave. On the way back to her house she explained that she had seen her ex-boyfriend and that he wasn’t allowed near her due to his bail conditions.

According to The Mirror, Ourzat allegedly followed the couple as they went back to her house. But as soon as Lozano went inside, Ourzat followed her. Biosca was unsure what to do, so he stood outside the doors, but upon hearing shouting and screaming, he went inside.

“He saw Ms. Ortiz-Lozano already lying on her back on the kitchen floor, with Mr. Ourzat crouching over her with a knife in one hand and his other on her throat,” Maylin told the court.

Ourzat stabbed Lozano 23 times with a kitchen knife and pleaded not guilty on murder charges. The court revealed Lozano had suffered multiple stab wounds to her chest, neck and abdomen, and had defensive wounds on her arms.

Ourzat, however, pleaded guilty on charges of manslaughter by diminished responsibility. Assisted by a Spanish translator, he had told police he was invited inside the house by Lozano before they got into an argument. Ourzat also denied following her that night and that she had stabbed him first.

The trial on the case continues.
