At the height of the Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie drama, the “Maleficent” star hand to deal with accusations that she stole the “Friends” actress’s husband. However, some observers believe that there were other factors involved and that Aniston and Pitt’s marriage was headed for failure even without Jolie’s entry into the picture.

They Can’t Agree About Kids

Pitt and Aniston can’t seem to agree on whether or not they’ll be having kids. Initially, there were talks then that it was the “Friends” actress who did not want to have children at that time due to her career, which painted Aniston in a negative light.

However, Ian Harperlin, in his book “Brangelina: The Untold Story,” said that the story was just a smear campaign targeted at Aniston. “Specifically? That Aniston firmly prioritised her career over starting a family which put her directly at odds with Pitt, who ached for kids,” Harperlin wrote in the book.

Aniston defended herself and insisted that she actually wanted to have kids when she was still with Pitt. “The women that inspire me are the ones who have careers and children; why would I want to limit myself?” she told Vanity Fair in an interview. “I’ve always wanted to have children, and I would never give up that experience for a career. I want to have it all.”

While she did not exactly point fingers at Pitt, a mutual friend of the ex-couple later revealed who exactly did not want children while they were married. “Having a baby was not his priority ... ever,” the friend revealed. “It was an abstract desire for him, whereas for Jen it was much more immediate.”

Pitt Was No Longer Happy

One factor that definitely contributed to their divorce was that Pitt was no longer happy and satisfied with his and Aniston’s arrangement. “It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself, Pitt told Parade. “

It even came to a point where he suspected that his marriage must have contributed to what he felt to be an uninteresting life. “I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it,” the actor added. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.”

Pitt received backlash after the interview as many fans thought that he was hinting that Aniston was dull. He later apologized and explained that it was he himself who was becoming dull. Either way, it just meant that he was no longer satisfied with the marriage at that point, which happens to a lot of married couples.

They Have Successful Careers

Aniston and Pitt are among the most successful Hollywood actors in their time. However, their success career-wise might have been one of the factors that led to the failure of their marriage.

According to Mirror, both Pitt and Aniston led busy lives and would often be away for extended periods of time, limiting the time they can spend with each other. While it is said that absence makes the heart grow fonder, that apparently did not apply to their cases as their absence only led to their divorce.
