You must be living under the rock if you still are unaware that Jennifer Aniston has joined Instagram. The 50-year-old beauty’s first post was with her F.R.I.E.N.D.S gang and it gained so much attention that the actress had one million followers in just five hours and 16 minutes, which also led to a new Guinness World Record, reported Business Insider.

During an interview with The Guardian, Jennifer Aniston revealed that the real reason why she joined Instagram was to promote her new Apple TV series, The Morning Show, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell. But that’s not all! She also said that this move was to ensure that she had control over both personal and public aspects of her life.

She said, “I thought, Why would I do this? People are already in my panty drawers all the time.”

“And I want them out of my panty drawers. But now I can decide which pair to show them.”

When she first joined Instagram on October 15, the frenzy behind her Instagram debut led to technical problems where some couldn’t even follow her account. However, the issue was soon resolved, and things we back to normal in the Instagram world.

The actress even revealed that although she had joined the platform only recently, she had a secret account, which made it possible for her to lurk around. On the Late-Night Show, she told Jimmy Kimmel that she wanted to understand the platform and get the hang of it. Also, she mentioned that she was being cautious in order to not get addicted to the social media platform.

The record Aniston broke was previously held by the royal account of the Sussexes, where they reached a million followers in five hours and 45 minutes. And, before that, the record was held by a K-pop star, Kang Daniel, who had a million people following him in 11 hours and 36 minutes.
