J.Lo has built an empire, and there are no two ways about it. The Bronx beauty has had humble beginnings (she started out as a back-up dancer back in the ‘90s). But, at present, her net worth amounts to an estimated $400 million! Here’s a breakdown of how she's raking in the dough:

For starters, her successful career spans over two decades. And, J.Lo has been persistent all through—right from the ‘90s when she slowly yet steadily made her way up: From working as a backup dancer in nightclubs in the ‘90s to landing the role as a Fly Girl dancer in the sketch comedy show, “In Living Color” in the year 1991.

Lopez then went on to feature as one of Janet Jackson’s main backup dancers. And soon after, before people knew it, Lopez struck gold as she landed the role of a lifetime as the late Queen of Tejano Selena Quintanilla. Needless to say, this was pegged as the turning point in her career which also earned her her first Golden Globe nomination.

But, that was then. The new millennium had more to offer Lopez, and things were going to be bigger than ever for the American singer and actress in terms of her net worth. Dabbling in various genres— 39 movies and 19 television shows later, making up to $15 million per film role—there was literally no looking back for Lopez.

Her latest innings, “Hustlers” saw J.Lo raking in big bucks— the movie earned a whopping $100 worldwide. And, let’s also not forget that she was paid $ 12 million annually during her stint on “American Idol”.

As for the money made from her music, just in case you’ve been wondering, the American icon’s eight studio albums were pretty much instant sell outs— over 75 million copies have been sold collectively to her Las Vegas residency that earned her a whopping $101.9 million. And, we’re not done. J.Lo’s commendable business acumen also plays a pivotal role in her net worth as her fragrance line, comprising 25 scents, is currently worth $2 billion.
