Jeremy Lin has become a sport sensation with the New York Knicks. In July, the New York team did not agree to pay Lin more than the $25 million over three years that the Rockets were offering.

The Rockets' offer to Lin reportedly pays $5 million in the first year, $5.225 million in the second and $14.8 million in the third.

Lin captivated fans during his New York run, giving them a high dose of 'Linsanity."

But what is Lin up to with the NBA regular season getting ready to start.

In his first trip back to New York since he was let go from the Knicks, Lin sat down with GQ.

Lin graduated from Harvard in 2010 and was not chosen to be a part of any team in the NBA draft. According to the profile, Lin decided to give himself "one more year, and then he would quit and get a real job" and not played oversees.

"I absolutely would not have liked playing in Spain or somewhere like that, so I was just gonna do it a year," Lin said. "Then I was gonna be done."

Lin said he believes that his Asian-American ethnicity has had some impact on his career.

"There's a lot of perceptions and stereotypes of Asian-Americans that are out there today, and the fact that I'm Asian-American makes it harder to believe, even crazier, more unexpected," he said. "I'm going to have to play well for a longer period of time for certain people to believe it, because I'm Asian. And that's just the reality of it."

Lin also told the magazine that he "has to get better" in his debut season with the rockets.

"I don't know how my next season's going to turn out," Lin said. "The things that I struggled with before last year, I'm going to struggle with next year-there's that learning process. Just because you have x amount of good games doesn't mean that you have drastically improved as a player. It just means that what you could do is finally being shown."

The 6 foot 3 point-guard said he agrees with people who think that he still has to learn, is not established enough and hasn't done it long enough, but he won't agree with people who say "he's at most a backup point guard.

The interview will be in the November issue of GQ set to hit newsstands on Oct. 23.

The Rockets' first regular season game will be against Atlanta on Nov. 2.

Charlie Rose will interview Lin for a CBS' "60 Minutes'" special to be aired during the NBA season. The season is set to start on Oct. 30 when Dallas opens the regular season against the Lakers at Staples Center.
