COVID-19 vaccines continue to be administered and most are keeping tabs on what side effects they would have on people. Though not applicable to all, the side effects may stem from something like an underlying condition, a reaction to the jab that is administered.

However, some COVID-19 vaccines still leave people with some side effects for unexplained reasons. And it appears this is the case over in Colorado with reports that at least 11 people experienced symptoms that include nausea and dizziness.

In a report from the Denver Post, two of those people had to be taken to a hospital for observation. The other nine were treated with juice and water. The health department stressed that the side effects were to be expected. However, it appears that because of it, the Colorado site was shut down for precautionary measures.

“The state has no reason to believe that people who were vaccinated today at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park should be concerned,” the health department said in an official statement. “In most cases, discomfort from fever or pain after getting the vaccine is normal.”

More than 1,700 people were vaccinated at the site before it was shut down on Wednesday. It would be best to note as well that the 11 individuals who had side effects from the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine are just 0.8 percent per Centura Health spokesperson Kevin Massey. Centura Health is the one running the site in collaboration with the state health department.

“We followed our protocols and, in an abundance of caution, made the decision — in partnership with the state — to pause operations for the remainder of the day,” Massey stated.

Roughly 640 people who were turned away will be rescheduled for Sunday and will be getting the Pfizer variant. The COVID-19 vaccine variant was also scheduled to be administered on that same day.
