‘Jujutsu Kaisen 0’ To Drop Dec. 24; Here's Everything You Need To Know

Fans will be getting their Christmas treats this winter as MAPPA Studio brings "Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie" in Japanese theaters on Dec. 24.

The announcement was unveiled accompanied by a teaser graphic at Juju Fes 2021, a special Jujutsu Kaisen event. The film is "the starting point of Jujutsu Kaisen" and "a story of love and curses," according to the visual's slogan.

The film’s visual features Okkotsu Yuta wielding a sword and a young and pale Orimoto Rika. The movie might be titled “Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School” where the Cursed Child Arc of the manga will be tackled.

"Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie" will serve as a prequel to the events of the anime series "Jujutsu Kaisen." Yuta will get to battle the evils lurking in every nook and corner while trying to free Rika’s spirit.

Mangaka Gege Akutami’s visuals were also included in the teaser trailer for the movie and fans can’t wait for the official trailer to be dropped soon.

According to Viz Media, “the story follows Yuta Okkotsu who is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won't leave him alone.

“Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?”

With a movie coming out soon, it won’t be long until season 2 will be announced. Due to the popularity of the manga series and its anime adaptation, it most likely will pick up a second installment.

The studio behind "Jujutsu Kaisen" is also responsible for "Attack on Titan" and "Chainsaw Man." These projects may bump "Jujutsu Kaisen" season 2 at a later date.

Critics and audience praised the animation, plot, and visuals of "Jujutsu Kaisen," making it one of the fastest fan-fave Shonen anime. The anime adaptation was duly acclaimed as nearly faithful to the manga series and the consistency of the art style.
