The home-sharing platform Airbnb has teamed up with Karol G to launch one of its most exclusive and ambitious experiences ever in Latin America. For one night only, the global reggaeton superstar will open the doors to her world in Medellín, Colombia, inviting a handful of lucky fans to step into her Tropicoqueta universe in real life.

This isn't just a promo event or a VIP pass. It's a fully immersive experience curated by Karol G herself, designed to celebrate the release of her brand-new album, Tropicoqueta. On July 29, 2025, just 24 fans will get the chance to join her at a rooftop party in her hometown surrounded by music, color, flavor, and everything that represents her identity, her roots, and her culture.

The Latin Times was invited to get a taste of the experience, and it was an explosion of flavors, colors, music, and passion. Something that Karol G fans will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Applications to join the experience open on June 30 and close on July 5 at airbnb.com/karolg. It's completely free to apply, but travel and accommodation are not included. Each selected guest will be responsible for getting to Medellín.

Welcome to Karol G's Tropicoqueta World

The rooftop will be transformed into a full-on tropical fantasy. Think lush plants, neon lights, exotic flowers, and the soundtrack of Tropicoqueta filling the air. Guests will be welcomed with piña coladas served in real pineapples, straight from a traditional Medellín street cart.

There will be a body art station where local artists will paint tropical, glittery designs inspired by Karol's album visuals, such as coconuts, hearts, palm leaves, flowers, and plenty of sparkle. A jewelry corner will let guests create their own bracelets with charms handpicked from Medellín's local markets: tiny guavas, musical notes, stars, and symbols that represent both the city and the Tropicoqueta spirit.

Of course, music takes center stage. One of Karol G's favorite orchestras, Los Tomate's, will perform live, blending the rhythms of her new album with classic Latin sounds that define her roots. All while guests enjoy food and drinks curated by Karol herself, her favorite dishes, her favorite flavors.

And yes, Karol G will be there. In person. Not just as a host but as part of the party, sharing moments with her fans, raising a toast (her go-to drink, a paloma, of course), and celebrating the power of music, identity, and being your most authentic self.

"This album is all about celebrating your most authentic self," Karol G said in the announcement. "I hope this experience lets people feel tha surrounded by the things I love, in the place I love most: my home, Colombia."

Airbnb's Biggest Play in Latin America

While Airbnb has collaborated with some of the world's biggest stars before this marks one of its most high-profile and culturally significant experiences in Latin America to date.

Globally, Airbnb Originals have offered fans once-in-a-lifetime experiences with celebrities transforming their personal spaces into immersive cultural events: There is Megan Thee Stallion (Los Angeles), with whom you can "transform into your anime alter ego in her 'otaku hottie quest.'" Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City), with whom you can "learn how to throw the perfect spiral" and "enjoy Kansas City barbecue" on a Sunday, and K-pop group Seventeen, who are celebrating their 10th anniversary, created "a space that will allow us to soak in the decade of memories we shared together—every song, every stage, every moment."

Now, Karol G's Tropicoqueta party in Medellín joins that lineup as a powerful, inspiring and fun statement of Latin culture, music, and identity on the global stage.

Medellín: From the Charts to the Rooftops

This isn't just about a party. It's about Medellín as a cultural epicenter. The city has seen an explosion of global attention in recent years, becoming a magnet for travelers drawn to its music, creativity, and authenticity.

According to Airbnb, demand for cultural experiences in Medellín has grown more than 80% in the past two years, driven by the global rise of reggaeton, Colombian culture, and artists like Karol G putting their hometown on the world map.

Applications for Siente la vibra Tropicoqueta with Karol G open on June 30 and close July 5 at airbnb.com/karolg. The event takes place on July 29. The experience is free, but guests are responsible for their own travel to and from Medellín.

It's not a concert. It's not a meet-and-greet. It's Medellín, Karol G's way: Tropicoqueta-style.
