Karol G surprises with Thalia, Feid and Danny Ramirez at Tropicoqueta

En español

First came the video featuring iconic soap opera actresses Anahí and Itatí Cantoral , then a tracklist that included duets with Marco Antonio Solis "El Buki" and Manu Chao. However, the surprises Karol G offered with the release of her new album, Tropicoqueta, didn't end there. The Colombian artist had more to offer, including her boyfriend, fellow singer-songwriter Feid, Thalía, and even actor Danny Ramírez, who is part of the MCU and Top Gun sagas.

While many were surprised not to see Thalía in the tribute to telenovelas, especially considering that Cantoral repeated her "maldita lisiada" meme about the character Zoraida Montenegro in María la del Barrio, it was almost obvious that she would be included in the production in some way.

The way she was incorporated was great, in a sample of Piel Morena, sung by Thalía and Karol, before the Mexican tells her, "You went from being La Bebesita to La Bichota and now to La Tropicoqueta!"

As fans guessed, Feid and Karol joined their voices once again on Verano Rosa, the thirteenth song on the album that had been identified only as Song 13.

Feid and Karol G already have two songs together, but this is their debut collaboration as a couple. The first track, titled Friki, was released in 2021 and recorded before they started dating. In 2024, they released +57, with DFZM (feat. Ovy on the Drums, J Balvin, Maluma, Ryan Castro & Blessd).

A Marvel hero in Tropicoqueta

Karol G chose the song "Papasito" as the launching pad for her album and to present it, she accompanied it with a video starring Ramírez, who is famous for playing the superhero Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse, or MCU. He is Captain America's sidekick.

But as if that were not enough, Ramírez is also part of the cast of the Top Gun saga, with Tom Cruise.

Another not-so-small detail of the song is that for the first time we hear Karol G singing in English, in verses that are quite Spanish-language, written by herself.

"I did the translation myself because I wanted it to sound true to how I speak English," Karol explained in an interview with Variety. "The story is about me seeing a guy at a party and feeling instantly attracted to him... and maybe the guy is American, so I'm speaking my best English to make him fall in love with me."
