Kate Middleton and Prince William recently showed off their baking skills via Mary Berry’s TV special on BBC called “A Berry Royal Christmas.” The famous baker tasked the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to make meringue roulades and the “bake-off” was really fun to watch.

The royals were also chatty during the show and Prince William has even gotten Nadiya Hussain, a baking show winner, to help him. While it is great to have an expert assistant, this was cheating since he should be baking just by himself.

It should be noted that Mary Berry made it a baking competition between the duke and the duchess. Thus, to get even, Kate also broke a rule by sprinkling icing sugar on her meringue when time’s up already, as per Express.

At the end of the contest, Berry could not help but comment on how competitive Prince William and Kate Middleton were then she refused to announce the winner. Berry commented that both of them did a great job and their roulades were delicious, then said, “It’s a draw. I don’t want to quarrel with either of you.”

According to The Daily Mail, the BBC special show that featured that baking star with Kate Middleton and Prince William baking was actually done for charity. It was to kickstart the engagement where Mary will be helping the royal couple with preparing the menu for a charity event. It was said that the viewers love the Kate and Mary duo as they displayed great chemistry while in the kitchen.

Moreover, aside from the roulade Prince William also made tea for the Passage homeless charity. While making it, he told Berry that he always tells his kids about homelessness to make them aware that there are people out there who dwells on the streets.

Berry then praised Kate Middleton and her husband because they help people by getting really involved. This is something rare because most people in high positions help others through their staff.

“They don’t just arrive and shake a few hands make a speech – they want to get involved and see what they can do,” the star baker said. “And it isn’t just one visit, they come back again and they remember who they spoke to last time. I think that’s remarkable.”

Meanwhile, the viewers really love the interaction between Berry and Kate Middleton that they took to social media to express their wish for the duo to have their own show. It is a great idea but definitely not possible though as she is already busy with her royal duties.
