Shortly after her recent social media post created baby buzz, Katy Perry confirmed via an Instagram live on Wednesday night that she’s actually pregnant with Orlando Bloom’s child. The “Firework” singer is due to give birth in summer.

“Let’s call it a reveal—there’s a lot that will be happening to me this summer,” said Perry. “Not only will I be giving birth—literally. Go watch the music video to watch what’s very true,” she added, referencing her baby bump in the clip.

Perry also called it in jest “a double whammy,” as she’s also set to release a new album around the time of her due date. “We’re excited, and happy—and it’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I knew I would tell you in the best way, which is through a piece of music because that’s how I speak to you,” she said.

Prior to her announcement, Perry set the online world on fire when she shared on Instagram a teaser for her new video, “Never Worn White.” The four-second clip showed her donning a head-to-toe white dress and cradling a baby bump, leading to speculations that she might actually be pregnant.

In August 2019, Perry was caught up in pregnancy rumors when fans spotted her and Bloom at the premiere of Amazon’s “Carnival Row” at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. The singer wore a pink flowing dress at the event and eagle-eyed fans were convinced they saw a bump as she walked the red carpet.

A month after the pregnancy rumors floated around, Bloom opened up to Howard Stern about wanting to have more kids with Katy Perry, his girlfriend of three years. “I love kids,” he said. “She’s great with kids. It would be a wonderful thing. We are shooting for that. It’s like this wild mustang. If we can just wrangle this beast and get on it’ll, we’ll have the ride of our life,” he added.

Meanwhile, Perry and Bloom are reportedly planning to tie the knot in Japan in June. They got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019 after dating on and off since 2016.
