Move over Super Bowl XLVIII there is a new football event today, and the competitors are even fiercer then the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Sea Hawks combined. Did I say fiercer, I meant cuter and of course fuzzier! Introducing the Hallmark Channel’s first ever-inaugural Kitten Bowl for 2014. If you weren’t excited for Super Bowl Sunday because you are not a big fan of football, will then now you have a reason to be glued to the TV, because who doesn’t love kittens? The kittens have been split into four teams, the North Shore Bengals, Last Hope Lions, Home and Family Felines and the Cedar Cove Cougars.

So what is all the fuzz about with this feline football event? The three hour long event is presented in association with North Shore Animal League America, meaning that all the cute competitors are up for adoption. “Kitten Bowl” guarantees the 60-70 kitten participants will be adopted into loving homes. The Hallmark Channel and North Shore Animal League hope the annual “Kitten Bowl” will significantly raise the awareness regarding the sad lives of shelter animals that spend their days without loving families across the country. The event will be will be hosted by TV personality and activist Beth Stern, and emceed by John Sterling, the legendary radio voice of the New York Yankees.
