Is Logan Paul going for the real thing?

Youtuber boxer Logan Paul believes he will come out victorious should he be matched up with former WWE star CM Punk in a TMZ Sports interview. The former wrestler has been in hiatus in the fighting scene for quite some time now.

Asked about fighting the 41-year old former WWE heavyweight champion, he said that he is open to that idea. “I am. I think I would destroy CM Punk if I’m being honest. I don’t know if anyone would disagree with that,” the 24-year old internet personality said.

He also dismissed the fact that Punk had previous UFC stints, saying that he lost both matches. “Not think, I know I can,” his reply, when asked if he thinks, can take CM Punk.

Transitioning from sports entertainment, Punk fought twice in the UFC but lost both. His debut was answering a challenge from Mickey Gall at UFC 203 but lost to submission via rear-naked choke in the first round. Three years later, he went back to the ring and fought Mark Jackson in his hometown Chicago at UFC 225. He lost via unanimous decision and has been inactive since.

The Ohio native also reiterated that he also wants to break into the mixed martial arts scene, particularly on UFC or Bellator, fighting a “worthy adversary”, not just CM Punk.

Social media shared a piece of their minds about how the fight would end up should the two parties agree to fight.

Paul lost to Olajide Olatunji, better known as KSI, in their debut fight as “professionals” via split decision on November 9 in Staples Center, LA. He later said that he is not interested in having a trilogy with Olatunji. The two fought for the first time last year and ended up in a majority draw.
