Sex Offender Held Down After He Allegedly Tried to Kidnap Kids From Playground PIXABAY

A man dressed in women's clothes was arrested for allegedly snapping photos of women underneath a stall in a mall bathroom in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday, Dec. 24.

Douglas Egan, 45, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper photography after he allegedly snapped photos of women underneath a stall in a bathroom at Hulen Mall in Fort Worth on Christmas Eve, Fox News reported.

A female victim noticed a cell phone underneath the stall on Christmas Eve at about 4:30 p.m. at Hulen Mall. After seeing the cell phone, the woman confronted the suspect Egan, described as "a male that was dressed to look like a female."

"While she was using the restroom, she observed what she believed to be a cell phone coming from underneath the stall," said Fort Worth police corporal Joshua Johnson.

As the woman confronted Egan, he attempted to flee the mall. Another person witnessed the confrontation and attempted to intervene. However, the suspect allegedly reached into his backpack and pulled out what appeared to be a handgun, and pointed it at the male witness, FOX 4 News reported.

Teena James says she got a text from a daughter who works at the mall saying someone inside had a gun.

"As a parent, you have to understand how disturbing that was to me as a mother of 4 where we’re worried about our children’s safety every time they leave the house," said James.

The suspect then left the mall. As he walked out, more and more witnesses started to gather, and all of them zeroed in on Egan from a distance. They watched him change out of women's clothing into men's clothing and as he changed, a handgun could be seen in his waistband.

Following this, officers were alerted. After officers responded to the scene and arrested the man at a nearby apartment complex, it was determined that the weapon was a pepper ball gun.

Egan, a registered sex offender, is being held at the Tarrant County Corrections Center on a combined $30,000 bond. He had previously been convicted of felony indecency with a child in Dallas and multiple misdemeanors for indecent exposure.

"It's extremely unfortunate that someone would take advantage of an individual just as they're using the restroom for their own personal gains," said Johnson.
