Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to remain in the club for another season, expecting it to appoint a world-class manager this summer, according to reports.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Ronaldo is still committed to the club and has decided to check out the final year of his contract next season. Ronaldo is reportedly confident that Manchester United's officials will make the right decision when bringing in a new manager and, as CR7 is eager to work with a new, world-class coach.

The two names being considered for Ralf Rangnick's position are PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag, though Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has recently been reported as a potential option due to the issues at the west London club.

The Portugal international had previously delivered shaky performances since the turn of the year and rumors even emerged that interim boss Rangnick was considering dropping him out of the team. However, Ronaldo delivered another historical hat-trick against Tottenham on Sunday, reminding everyone how capable he still is.

This season, the 37-year-old footballer is the joint-third top scorer in the Premier League with 12 goals, behind only Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota.

During the summer transfer window, Ronaldo returned to Manchester United after three years in Italy with Juventus and nine years before that with Real Madrid. Ronaldo has five European Cup wins, and he is determined to win his sixth.

Despite Ronaldo scoring his 807th professional football goal during their Tottenham game, he failed to score or assist his team against Atletico, losing 1-0 at Old Trafford Tuesday. Manchester United will again end the season without any trophy as they have been dumped out of the Champions League's round of 16. Atletico had suffered elimination at the hands of Ronaldo's squad in the 2013-14 final, 2014-15 quarterfinals, 2015-16 final, 2016-17 semifinals and 2018-19 round of 16.

The Red Devils have already been eliminated from the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in the third and fourth rounds, respectively. United's 2021-22 campaign will end without any trophies; Ronaldo is also set to finish a season without any place for the first time in over a decade.
