The Mercedes-Benz Vision Gran Turismo concept is teased ahead of the upcoming LA Auto Show, which begins later this month. As the name of the concept suggests, the Mercedes-Benz AMG concept was designed exclusively for Gran Turismo 6. In the development of Gran Turismo 6, a new "Vision Gran Turismo" program invited top automakers, design houses, and influential companies to design a vehicle that defines their ethos and their vision (see what I did there?) for the future.
Technical details on the Mercedes-Benz Vision Gran Turismo concept are slim but you can quickly tell from its powerful shape that it is an AMG supercar. From it's large wheels, and long hood to its dramatically sloping roofline and short rear deck, the Mercedes-Benz Vision Gran Turismo concept demonstrates classic GT coupe proportions while looking unlike anything that has ever come from the German luxury automaker.
"Design teams from Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Bertone, GM Design, Honda, Infiniti, Italdesign Giugiaro, JORDAN Brand, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Nissan, Peugeot, SRT(Chrysler), Volkswagen and Zagato will creat concept models giving a unique insight into the future of the automotive sector," announced Polyphony Digital, the developer behind the Gran Turismo game franchise, on the Vision project. Their designs will then be created as working cars for GT6."
Stay tuned as we anticipate the official press release of the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept in the days ahead of the LA Auto Show.
