Miley Cyrus Explains Why She Sticks Her Tongue Out In ‘SNL’ Promo [PROMO]

The best way to cope with a thousand rumors that include a pregnancy, a broken engagement, many work commitments and promoting an album is through humor. Just ask Miley Cyrus, who has been bombarded with a lot of speculation about her private life and public persona. At just 20 years old, the former Disney star has faced the media scrutiny starting with her VMA's performance earlier this year, and the truth is, anything she does now will make a juicy headline, and will only help her sales, so she is benefitting from it. This time around, the world is expecting Miley's "Saturday Night Live" appearance on Oct. 5, where not only she will host the show, but she will also be the musical guest.

But before the highly anticipated day, Miley got busy with SNL's Taran Killam shooting the promo videos to heighten up the public's expectations and it looks like nothing will be off limits. In one of the promos, Killam asks Cyrus what she has been up to since he doesn't watch TV or read the news, to which Miley replies "You might want to take a few minutes to Google me." Taran enters one hour later with a shocked face, and only manages to say "You've been busy."

In another one of the promo videos, Killam scolds Cyrus for her raunchy VMA's performance alongside Robin Thicke. "Miley, that VMAs performance . . . how could you?" he asks. "I know, how could I?" she agrees. And they go on, mocking the fact that everyone across America (and maybe the world) focused on the fact that her appearance at the MTV awards was not appropriate for children. However, the promo that caused the most sensation was the one that featured Taran's straightforward question about Miley's tongue. "Miley, do you mind me asking why you're always sticking out your tongue?" Killam asks.

"It's how I smell," explains the pop starlet, who is wearing a white leather jacket over a white bra top with an orange checkered skirt in the video. "That's how you smell?" Killam asks. "Like a snake?" "Yeah," Cyrus says, sticking out her tongue. "Are you wearing women's deodorant?"
