The discovery of a decomposing body inside a Tesla registered to the rising R&B singer d4vd has sent shockwaves through Los Angeles and the music world. Authorities confirmed that the remains belonged to 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernández, a California teenager who had been missing for over a year.

Police investigators were first alerted when a Hollywood tow yard employee reported a strong odor coming from the vehicle. After inspection, officers found a body hidden in the car's front trunk, wrapped in a bag. Upon checking the registration, it was discovered that the car belonged to Burke, who hadn't reported the vehicle stolen. The case has since escalated into a high-profile investigation that raises questions about how a young girl missing since 2024 ended up in the trunk of a car tied to one of music's rising stars.

Investigators detailed the clothing and physical identifiers that matched reports filed when Celeste was first reported missing. She was found wearing a tube top and black leggings, with small metal stud earrings and a yellow metal chain bracelet. A striking detail noted by police was a tattoo on her right index finger that read "Shhh...," which her family had previously described.

Rivas, who was reported missing in April 2024 in Elsinore Park, California, was 13 years old at the time of her disappearance and, according to her mother, had a boyfriend named David. She also confirmed that Rivas had the "Shhh..." tattoo on her finger. Interestingly enough, Burke has the same tattoo on his finger. Authorities believe the body had been placed in the vehicle approximately five days before its discovery.

Other social media users have alleged links between the singer and the teen through Instagram and Discord.

Forensic evidence is still being processed to determine when and how Celeste was placed inside the vehicle. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office formally identified the victim as Celeste Rivas, confirming her age and issuing September 8, 2025, as her date of death.

The coroner's office has deferred the cause of death pending toxicology and further examination, leaving authorities unable to determine for now whether Rivas's death was the result of foul play, an accident, or other circumstances. The LAPD has asked the public for patience, emphasizing that speculation circulating on social media could interfere with ongoing work to piece together the timeline.

So far, d4vd has not been named a suspect, and his representatives have stated that he is cooperating fully with law enforcement. Burke was on his "Withered" World tour when the news broke, but TMZ reports that his upcoming concert in Los Angeles has been canceled. His singles "Here with Me" and "Romantic Homicide" became viral hits on TikTok, leading to a record deal.
