Mission ‘Fox Hunt’ To Illegal Activities In The US, China Is A Threat For All

The director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the U.S. thinks that China is the biggest threat to the country’s future.

Speaking to the Hudson Institute in Washington, FBI Director Christopher Wray said that the acts of theft and espionage by the Chinese authorities is the "greatest long-term threat" to the future of the U.S.

Additionally, he claimed that China even tried to interfere with the U.S. coronavirus research and is now forcing the Chinese citizens living abroad to return to their home country.

"The stakes could not be higher," he Wray said. "China is engaged in a whole-of-state effort to become the world's only superpower by any means necessary."

During the sessions, Wray explained how China has been using blackmail and bribery to influence U.S. policy and also threw light on the Chinese interference and the alleged role in monetary and data theft as well as illegal political activities.

"We've now reached a point where the FBI is now opening a new China-related counterintelligence case every 10 hours," he Wray said. "Of the nearly 5,000 active counterintelligence cases currently underway across the country, almost half are related to China."

Wray further explained how the Chinese President Xi Jinping spearheaded a mission called “Fox Hunt,” that specifically targeted Chinese nationals living abroad because the country sees them as a threat to the indigenous government.

He added that the Chinese government is going to an unimaginable extent to make their citizens living abroad return to China. Wray said that such people being targeted included political rivals and people looking to expose China’s policy of human rights violations.

The FBI Director further explained how China sent an emissary to a target’s family in the U.S. when they failed to locate him. The message to the family was to ask the target to return to China or commit suicide.

Wray advised Chinese officials living in the U.S. to inform the FBI immediately in case they realize that the Chinese government is trying to make them return to their country.
