If you are a bibliophile you probably know August 9th is National Book Lovers Day. Currently the hashtag Book Lovers Day, is a top trending topic on Twitter and is being celebrated with a special emoji.

The origin and creator of the Holiday is unknown, but according to the Google searches on 2006 appeared the first search and by 2012 “National Book Lovers Day” began to spike. 

According to Talking New Media, recent financial reports have shown that sales of books are climbing, while ebook sales are decreasing. Which is surprising when book publishers and people around the world once toughtt hat ebooks would replace physical books. 

Revenues during the first quarter of 2017 shows that print books generated $12 million dollars more than the first quarter of 2016.

So pick up that book that's been on the top of your reading list for months, stir up a delicious cocktail from Sparkling Ice and enjoy!

1.5-3 oz of vodka (depending on how tame you are)

6 oz of orange juice

4 oz of Sparkling Ice Orange Mango

Orange (garnish)


  1. Fill chilled pint glass 1/3 with ice.
  2. Pour vodka and OJ over ice.
  3. Stir.
  4. Add Sparking Ice Orange Mango.
  5. Garnish with orange slice.

1.5 oz of gin

Simple syrup

½ Lime (sliced into 3 wedges)

Splash of Sparking Ice Lemon Lime

Lime (garnish)


  1. Add gin, simple syrup, and lime wedges to shaker.
  2. Muddle.
  3. Add ice.
  4. Shake and strain into chilled martini glass.
  5. Add a splash of Sparkling Ice Lemon Lime.
  6. Garnish with lime twist.

2 oz of bourbon

1 oz lime juice

2 tsp of sugar

Sparkling Ice Pink Grapefruit


  1. Add lime juice and sugar to shaker.
  2. Mix.
  3. Add ice and bourbon.
  4. Shake and strain into chilled Collins glass filled half way with ice.
  5. Top with Sparkling Ice Pink Grapefruit.
