Stanford faces New Mexico today in the NCAA Tournament Facebook/Stanford Alumni

No. 7 New Mexico takes on No. 10 Stanford today at 1:40 p.m. The Lobos finished with 27 victories and earned the Mountain West Tournament championship by beating San Diego State. Now they have to face Stanford, that could be a challenge for them.

Stanford finished the season with 21 victories. They probably are a better team than New Mexico. But remember that New Mexico was a third seed last season and was upset by Harvard.

New Mexico certainly has the talent to make it deep into the tournament while Stanford is making their first Tournament appearance since 2008. Dwight Powell, their leading scorer, will have to play the best game of his life.

Both teams average about 74 points per game, meaning the two teams can score points. This will be a pretty close game. Both teams will play their hardest to have a chance to keep on playing.
