A couple of rumors have came out that contradict what the recent statements made.

The first saying LG was working on a secret device called Odin that would tote a more power processor than the LG Optimus G pro. Many were under the impression that the processor in Odin would also go into the new LG Optimus G2 but when it was discovered that the G2 would be carrying a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, the question is what device could this Odin processor be for? Only one device came to mind, the Nexus 5.

More details arose from a report where an anonymous tipster said:

"LG WILL be making the Nexus 5.

Just as the LG Nexus 4 was based on the LG Optimus G, the Nexus 5 will be based on the LG Optimus G2. What LG learned from last year's fiasco was not to launch two top tier models almost simultaneously (G and Nexus 4). Thus, the G2 will launch in Q3 -- which will give LG time to ramp up production for the Nexus 5 in Q4.

All past 4 Nexus smartphones have launched in November, December, January. The last 3 Nexus smartphones have launched in November or December.

And the Nexus 5 will be the first phone to get Key Lime Pie 5.0"

The specs of the LG Optimus G2 are:

"We know for a fact that the LG Optimus G2 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a fast, efficient and powerful processor. It is also the trend of the future with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Snapdragon 800, Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra all boasting it. LG is

emphasizing the processor power, "LG already announced that the upcoming smartphone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with quad-core Krait 400 CPUs and Adreno 330 GPU. Alleged screenshots have also revealed that the smartphone will (expectedly) pack a 1080p display."
