Paul Gallagher, brother of Oasis' Noel and Liam, charged with rape

Paul Gallagher, the older brother of Liam and Noel Gallagher, founders of the legendary UK band Oasis, has been formally charged with rape and other violent crimes by British police.

As Scotland Yard confirmed to Rolling Stone, Paul Gallagher, 59, faces a series of charges including three counts of sexual assault, coercive and controlling behavior, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of threats to kill, and one count of assault occasioning "actual bodily harm."

All the alleged crimes are believed to have occurred between 2022 and 2024.

Gallagher, who lives in East Finchley, north London , is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on August 27. A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said the alleged victim is receiving support from officers specially trained in sexual and domestic violence cases.

Although not a member of the band Oasis, Paul Gallagher has remained close to his brothers' media presence. In 1997, he published Brothers: From Childhood to Oasis — The Real Story , an unauthorized biography in which he chronicled his personal account of Liam and Noel's rise to fame.

The news comes at a delicate time for Oasis fans, as the band recently announced their long-awaited international reunion tour. The Gallaghers' return to the stage after years of separation had generated a wave of nostalgia and excitement around the world, but now it's been overshadowed by this family scandal.

Neither Liam nor Noel have issued any public statements regarding their older brother's arrest. It has also not been confirmed whether this situation will affect their tour plans, which already have dates confirmed in Europe and America.

The investigation remains ongoing, and more details about the charges against Paul Gallagher, whose trial is just beginning, are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
