Good news PlayStation Vita owners! Sony has announced a slew of services and apps that will be coming to the popular handheld console including Hulu Plus and Redbox Instant by Verizon. In the announcement Sony revealed six apps will be coming, with three immediately available for download. These apps include Crunchyroll which offers the best Japanese anime selection out there. There is also NHL GameCenter Live which allows users to instantly stream live out-of-market games in HD! Finally Qello Concerts App is also available and with this app users have access to a wide array of their favorite artist’s full-length performances, the largest selection of concert streams and documentaries from artist like Coldplay, Beyonce, Bob Marley and More!

Other apps announced to make their debut to the PS Vita this spring include Gaiam TV which airs a large collection of fitness classes and groundbreaking documentaries. Finally Vita will get two wonderful video apps including Hulu Plus and Redbox Instant by Verizon. Hulu Plus will require users to pay a monthly subscription service of $7.99 but users will have access tons of great shows and movies. Redbox Instant by Verizon is offering new subscribers a free month of movies. With Redbox Instant you can stream Hollywood hit movies on their Vita as well as receive DVD’s and Blu-ray rentals.

These apps join favorites such as Crackle, Facebook, Flickr, NBA Game Time, Netflix, Skype, TuneIn Radio, YouTube, and more. The PlayStation Blog reports that this is just the beginning and more apps will be available this year for the Vita.
