"Pokemon Go" New Year's event has just started! Players can capture many dressed Pokemon and get a range of freebies during this event. On five-star raids, trainers can battle and capture some highly anticipated Pokemon.

The "Pokemon Go" New Year's event runs from Dec. 31, 10 p.m. until Sunday, Jan. 4, 2022, at 8 p.m. local time. The event is part of the Season of Heritage, and it will be the year's final "Pokemon Go" event.

Trainers that participate in the New Year's event will receive a bonus. Trainers will get the following, according to GoHub:

  • 2× Hatch Candy

Remember that the "Pokemon Go" New Year is only short. Trainers who lose out on this opportunity today may have to wait a year to participate in the event again. For the wild encounters and raids, a different cycle of Pokemon may be available by then. Also, keep in mind that these are just a few of the event's highlights. Their official website has all of the information needed.

If trainers missed the New Year's event, they should watch for additional raids in January 2022. This is because many fascinating Pokemon are returning to the game. According to GamesRadar, the following are the key raid dates for next year:
