A graphic photo has been making rounds on the Internet, after it was posted on social media, of a woman's head filled with porcupine quills. The woman, Sandra Nabucco of Brazil, was reportedly walking her dog in Gávea, near Rio de Janeiro, when a 10-pound porcupine fell off a lamp post and landed on her head.

"It was a huge shock. I felt a thud on my head and then felt spines with my hands. The pain was enormous," said Nabucco to Brazlian TV network Globo. "I'm a strong woman; an old person or a child would have died. Someone told me there was a pair of porcupines living in the area, but I had never seen them."

Nabucco was taken to the hospital, where a surgeon removed over 200 quills by tweezers. In an effort to prevent infection, the 52-year-old is now on an antibiotic regimen. And if you think the victim of the porcupine is vengeful, think again! Despite describing the incident to be "frightening and very painful," Nabucco told The Dodo that she's happy that the porcupine lived. "I saved its life," she said. "He broke his fall on my head."
