After actor and reality TV star, Ricardo Medina Jr. was arrested for fatally stabbing his roommate, Joshua Sutter, with a sword, police have dropped all charges. Medina's attorney, Allen Bell, told ABC7. "It is a self-defense case. You have an individual here that was the victim of a beating in the kitchen area before he went to the bedroom and closed and locked the door in order to secure himself from any continuing violence." This was apparently convincing enough for Medina to be released last Tuesday afternoon.

The incident in their shared home in Palmdale, California seemed to have happened after Ricardo Medina was fighting for his life as well as protecting his girlfriend at the time of the stabbing. Medina also called 911 and the police immediately to try to save Sutter’s life and showing he had nothing to hide.

Howevere, it’s not exactly the end of the case as the L.A. County D.A.'s office said the sheriff's investigators will continue investigating the details of the incident, therefore other charges could potentially surface and bring Medina back for questioning, or arrest, since the DA's office hasn’t ruled out charging Medina at a future date. The actor spoke to reporters as he was being released: "I'm very, very, very sorry for what occurred," he said. "I'm very happy to be out of jail, and my heart goes out to the Sutter family."
