Actor and reality TV star, Ricardo Medina Jr. was arrested for murdering his roommate, Joshua Sutter, with a sword. According to TMZ the incident occurred around 4pm in Palmdale, California while the two were fighting. Reports indicate the former Power Ranger went into his room with his girlfriend and Sutter forced himself into the room. Medina then used his sword and struck his roommate fatally in the abdomen. Medina immediately called 911 but Sutter was declared dead upon his arrival to the hospital. Although it was Medina who called the police, he has been arrested and is in jail with bail set at $1MM.

Medina has participated in shows like “ER”, “CSI:Miami”, and VH1 show “Kept” after his big break in Hollywood as the Red Ranger on "Power Rangers Wild Force" back in 2002. This marks the second scandal of the sort where a Power Ranger star is involved. In 2004 a couple was murdered in Arizona and Skylar Dereon was charged as the intellectual and material author of the crime. Dereon and the other four implicated in the killing were later sentenced to death.

It is uncertain at this time if Medina’s defense will argue it was self-defense or which direction the trial will take.
