Dominican artist Romeo Santos was the star at Premio Lo Nuestro 2017 as he was honored with the Award for Excellence and connected with the audience with a touching message for Latinos worldwide as he was receiving his recognition.

"The Bachata King" was clearly moved after receiving the award for his contributions made throughout the years to Latin music. This award comes right before he launches his upcoming album "Golden," where the first single "Heroe Favorito" hails from.

"In the last tour I did in the United States I saw many Latinos of different nationalities," Santos began by saying in his acceptance speech. "But I saw something very beautiful: I saw union, I saw how because of my music, they came together. In this world, we need more love, more peace, less envy, less wars, and we all deserve respect, equality," he added.

He also thanked his family and friends for all the support during these years and stated that without his fans the awards wouldn’t be possible. Prince Royce presented Santos with the recognition, and called him a mentor and great friend.

After receiving the award from Prince Royce, Romeo said, "It's very nice to receive this award from a person that is like a little brother for me."

After receiving the Premio Lo Nuestro, Santos performed "Heroe Favorito" live in its television premiere with a soaring performance that drove the audience totally crazy when the superstar took the stage and flew over the crowd with a beautiful girl.

The Dominican Superstar hasn’t released any new material since his album "Fórmula, Vol. 2" and we can’t wait for "Golden" to come out.
