Prince Charles and Prince William’s body language and demeanor at their respective royal weddings were recently compared by an expert. One of the male royals seemed very much in charge during his special day, while the other one looked unsure.
While speaking with Express, body language expert Judi James said that the heir to the throne also seemed shy and unsure of what he was doing when he tied the knot with Princess Diana. At one point, Prince Charles even asked Queen Elizabeth II if he could kiss the bride.
On the contrary, his eldest son, Prince William, looked very confident on his wedding day. And since he and Kate had already been dating for a decade at that time, it was evident that the dad of three was sure about marrying his long-time girlfriend.
“William, on the other hand, looked very much in charge at his own wedding,” James said. “He stands upright and confident here, with a wide, open-mouthed smile that suggests he is enjoying the day. Although younger than his father when he married, he looks very much the confident man to Charles’s diffident and anxious young boy,” James added.
The body language expert also said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s touch gestures were synchronized during their wedding day. This suggested that the royal couple had empathy, strong bond and love for each other.

However, the same cannot be said about Prince Charles and Princess Diana. The couple had only been dating for a few months when they got engaged. Shortly after, they decided to tie the knot at Westminster Abbey.
While there, the royal couple stood on the balcony of the Buckingham Palace to greet the massive crowd. The Prince and Princess of Wales kissed each other on the lips, but it was previously revealed that the idea didn’t come from them.
Prince Andrew was the one who urged Prince Charles and Princess Diana to kiss. In the book “Andrew: The Playboy Prince,” royal author Andrew Morton said that the Duke of York teased his older brother by asking him to plant a kiss on his new bride’s lips.
