“The way in which a lot of the tensions were reported between the Sussexes and the Cambridges was all done through the prism of the women, between Kate and Meghan,” says Chris Ship in an interview via Express UK. “The truth is there has been a little bit of an issue between the two brothers, between William and Harry,” the journalist added.

Rumors of Prince Harry and Prince William’s rift — which is allegedly due to Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s feud — started after Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018. Things escalated when royal biographer Katie Nicholl — in an interview with Fox via The Sun — claimed that Harry had felt that William was not as supportive as he should have been.

“William was concerned about how quickly the relationship had moved and wanted to make sure that Harry was making the right decision,” Nicholl said in the interview. “What was intended as well-meaning, brotherly concern and a bit of advice went down quite badly with Harry,” she continued.

However, royal expert Chris Ship believes that the tension between the brothers is present but the issue with Meghan was not the catalyst. “It was written as a problem between the wives,” says Ship. “That actually isn't true,” he added.

After their mother’s devastating passing, the two princes became best friends — banding together after their shared loss. However, the expert describes the brothers as “competitive,” causing a rivalry between the two. Ship excellently describes it as two “alpha” males with a shared background showing dominance over the other.

“They are alpha males,” Ship explains. “Siblings do have rivalry, and every family will know that,” he continued.

The situation has reportedly become much better after Harry and Meghan moved into Frogmore Cottage. The brothers are now reportedly “back on track,” with the two princes filling in “very different roles” in the royal family.

William and Harry are steadily rekindling their relationship, especially after William and Kate’s visit to the cottage after the birth of Harry and Meghan’s son, Archie. With the united front that the royal family shows, the so-called feud between the two brothers seems to have come to pass.
