Prince William and Prince Harry’s clash of households may only worsen in the coming months. A royal expert shared her thoughts regarding the brothers and their wives’ differences and impact on the public.

Camilla Tominey told “This Morning” that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are desperate to not be overshadowed by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. But Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also setting their sights on making sure that they stay relevant no matter what.

Earlier this week, both couples shared intimate photos of themselves to commemorate two different occasions. Prince Harry and Meghan celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday, while Kate debuted her garden at the Chelsea Flower Show.

After Prince Harry and Meghan released a throwback video from their royal wedding last year, Prince William and Kate dropped photos and videos of their children visiting the show. Tominey said that what transpired on social media last weekend did cause a bit of tension.

“It seems like, why would you release photographs that the newspapers all want to run, it seems like there’s a bit of a clash,” she said. “I think this is going to be the problem moving forward,” she added.

Since Prince William and Prince Harry have separated their households, they are now operating two different accounts on Instagram. Prince Harry is sharing Sussex Royal with Meghan, while Prince William is sharing Kensington Palace’s Instagram account with Kate.

“William and Kate are a future King and Queen who want to remain relevant and don’t want to be overshadowed. The Sussexes have a sprinkling of stardust because of the transatlantic nature of their relationship and the glamor of Meghan. But they’re much further down the pecking order. So how do they maintain their relevance?” Tominey said.

The royal expert said that both couples are trying to push their message forward, and this is what will worsen the tensions between them.
