The latest Project CARS trailer showcased some really exciting footage and gameplay at E3. The development team behind Project Cars is Slightly Mad Studios. In the past, Slightly Mad Studios also worked at racing titles including Need For Speed and Test Drive. Judging by the latest video, Project CARS stands to be more fun, exciting, and immersive than any game from either of the past franchises.

"Welcome to Project CARS: the ultimate driver journey," said the Project CARS voiceover. "Create a driver, choose your starting point and then aim for glory.

"Climb the motorsport ranks quickly to claim the ultimate prize. Dominate one particular motorsport defiantly against all challengers or become a multidiscipline master and prove you can compete in all forms of racing. Complete all three of these historic goals and you’ll be on your way to entering the hall of fan alongside your heroes."

The racing driver career concept was pioneered by the Gran Turismo franchise and has been mimicked by many racing titles that have come after. However, few racing games seem as carefully structured as Project CARS. Players will get to drive street cars, high-end exotics, racing karts, GT touring cars, Porsche endurance cars, LMP prototypes, NASCAR stock cars, and even Formula 1 machines.

Variety is the spice of life and the wide selection of vehicles will definitely build Project CARS' appeal. That said, the new racing game's party piece is not the car list, but its compatibility with the latest Sony Project Morpheus virtual reality system. Players that wear the Sony PM headset will be able to check for blindspots while racing in Project CARS by simply tilting their heads to glance at either side as the tracking device reacts to the movement.

Project CARS will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Wii U and SteamOS by November 2014. Watch the new E3 trailer here.
