Prince William's wife Kate Middleton just managed to pull off a feat that other female royals can only dream of accomplishing. A palace insider reveals that the Duchess of Cambridge has earned Queen Elizabeth II’s seal of approval as the monarch admires her for her ability to remain calm and collected despite juggling both her royal duties and her family life.

Her Majesty has been known to have a few favorites when it comes to female members of the royal family, according to Vanity Fair. One of them is the hardworking yet low-key Sophie, Countess of Wessex and, as recently confirmed by an insider, Kate Middleton as well.

One of the reasons is that Her Majesty and the Duchess share a similar approach to life. “The Queen is a fan,” Vanity Fair quoted an unnamed source. “Kate is unflappable. Her mantra is very like the Queen’s keep calm and carry on approach in life, and she has the added benefit of making the Royal Family seem almost normal and in touch.”

Some members of the royal family such as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had to endure negative press coverage in recent months but the Duchess of Cambridge appears to be bucking the trend. It’s no surprise then for the Queen to be thankful for Kate as she managed to remain one of the most popular royals.

Kate’s popularity in polls is attributed to her relatability as she always had this girl-next-door image that people can easily relate to. “She’s very much the girl next door, from how she dresses to how she behaves and interacts with people on engagements,” biographer Claudia Joseph explained. “She is likeable and relatable and that has made her very popular.”

Kate being one of Queen Elizabeth’s favorite royals might surprise some royal fans considering the two royals supposedly have a “distant relationship,” as previously reported by Express. But that does not seem to be the case anymore based on recent public engagements where the Duchess was seen accompanying her Majesty.

During the Remembrance Sunday service, it is evident that the two royals became closer, according to New Idea. Her Majesty and the Duchess were seen talking quietly at various times during the ceremony.
