Last September 30th, Kylie Jenner was slammed for trying to upstage bride, Hailey Baldwin, when she attended the latter's wedding wearing a gold keyhole dress with an incredibly high slit. Many deemed the dress inappropriate and Kylie's behavior insensitive - a situation that you will never find Kate Middleton in, as she strictly follows royal wedding traditions to avoid such fiascos.

As any decent wedding guest would know, first rule when attending such a celebration is to dress appropriately and to not take the spotlight from the bride. Kate is aware of this and adheres to two royal wedding traditions just for this: (1) rewear an outfit that she's already been photographed in and (2) wear something designed by her own wedding dress designer.

An example of such was when she attended Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding wearing a chic coatdress from Alexander McQueen. Though it looks white when photographed, the coatdress is actually a pale yellow. Kate had previously worn the dress on two other occassions, specifically Princess Charlotte's christening in 2015 and the Trooping the Colour parade in 2016.

Another instance was when she wore another Alexander McQueen design to Princess Eugenie's wedding in 2018, a fuschia dress that left people craning their necks. Many thought it was a bold choice for the Duchess as she usually opts for a more muted color pallette, nevertheless, Kate looked chic and elegant. She wore something similiar to her sister Pippa's wedding in 2017 - a "blush pink long-sleeved design by Alexander McQueen with a matching fascinator."

Apparently, the traditions are also practiced by Meghan Markle as well. According to royal commentator, Kristen Meinzer, "Tradition may be overstated, but it's something that both Kate and Meghan have been known to do, most recently at Eugenie's wedding."

She went on to say, "It's a way to show some nostalgia for their own days without overshadowing the bride. After all, it's just them wearing their favorite designer again."

Fans have been speculating as to what Kate Middleton would be wearing to Princess Beatrice's wedding in 2020 as soon as the latter announced her engagement last September 2019. If based on past trends though, it'd be safe to say that it'd be something from Alexander McQueen and that the Duchess is sure to look elegant and chic.
